The warm shirt for the colder part of the year
Brushing lifts the surface of the woven cotton into a soft nap. That nap holds small pockets of air, which is why this shirt feels warmer than a smoother cotton cloth of the same weight.
The cotton underneath is heavyweight, so the shirt hangs properly rather than clinging. Corduroy runs inside the neck, along the collar and around the cuffs. Embossed buttons and a small chest label provide the only visible branding.
Wear it on its own through autumn, beneath a quilted gilet when the temperature drops, or over a thermal top in winter. It does the work of a light jumper while still fitting and moving like a shirt.
Vedoneire has been making cold-weather clothing in Ireland since 1951, where a warm shirt earns its place for more of the year than it does not.
