A gilet keeps warmth around the body while leaving the arms free. That makes it an easy layer for driving, walking the dog or the stretch of a day when a jacket feels like too much.
The body is fully quilted. Corduroy finishes the collar, while the chest pockets close with snaps and the two lower pockets are edged with matching cord trim. An elastic bungee and adjustable toggle run through the hem, so it can be drawn in when the wind turns.
The regular fit is deliberately roomier than the heritage quilted jacket. Take your usual size and add a jumper underneath without needing to size up.
